Juliana was born and raised in Bogota, Colombia. She graduated as a Human Rights and Social Justice Lawyer from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in 2020 and specialized in Universidad Externado de Colombia as a Criminal Lawyer in 2021. In Colombia she served as a volunteer with an NGO committed to providing housing, education, and other community services to indigent people for about 10 years. In 2023, she completed her LLM in Social Justice and Public Interest at the University of California, Berkeley-School of Law, where she participated in the Contra Costa County Reentry Pro Bono Project. She has focused her studies working with incarcerated individuals and in post-conviction services, and joined PLS immigration unit in September 2023. Juliana enjoys the most playing tennis and spending time outdoors.
