Mary first joined the Immigration Unit in September 2018 as an Immigrant Justice Corps Fellow. She graduated from Northeastern University School of Law in May 2018, where she was a Public Interest Law Scholar. She has completed internships with PLSNY’s Immigration Unit, the San Francisco court of the Executive Office for Immigration Review, Legal Centre Lesbos in Greece, Northwest Workers’ Justice Project in Oregon, and the Mekong Migration Network in Thailand. Prior to law school, she spent 4 years as an Immigration Paralegal, first with the Immigrant Worker Project in Canton, OH and later at the Legal Aid Society of NYC where she practiced as an Accredited Representative before U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. Mary received her B.A. from Oberlin College in Oberlin, OH in Political Science and Latin American Studies. Mary was admitted to practice law by the New York State Bar in January 2019. While not quite the same, she has happily decided to settle for New York sharp cheddar cheese as an acceptable substitute for her native Wisconsin cheddar.
