Laura Rion

Immigration Staff Attorney

Laura was born and raised in North Carolina. In 2014, she received her Bachelor’s of Arts in Political Science from Campbell University before moving to New York City to attend law school. Laura graduated from New York Law School in 2017. During law school she focused on immigration work and spent her final year working with the Safe Passage Project immigration clinic representing juveniles in their immigration proceedings. After law school, Laura clerked with the New York Immigration Court of the Executive Office for Immigration Review through the Department of Justice Honors Program. She also worked with the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services as an asylum officer at the New York asylum office prior to joining PLS in May 2020. Laura was admitted to the New York State Bar in March 2018.  Laura now lives in Albany, NY with her husband and adopted cat. In her free time, she enjoys reading and exploring the Capital Region and surrounding northeast states.
